Restless again, Archie wanders among the dreamers downstairs in the gallery. |

As the dreamers dance, Archie begins dancing with them, and with Lily. |

He is still dancing when he hears a voice... |

...are you my Uncle Archie? Asks Mary. Is this my Aunt Lily, in the locket? |

|
Mary wants to know what happens to dead people; “they are just dead, not gone” replies Archie, who realizes he has been dancing with Lily all night. |
|
Mary meets Ben Weatherstaff, the gardener, and speaks of Lily's garden, and the Robin she has seen. He mentions having seen Martha's brother Dickon, whom Mary has begun to believe is fictional. |
